1.
Fool 02:57
A set rollin' in, a cold cave, a homeward bound train I sit on the beach, a lost cause, an easy place to breathe Take for my own more than I've sown and know it won't be long 'til I hear from my unpaid dues I feel nothing new an emptiness I've grown accustomed to My heart's a flickering light, a bad bulb on a neon sign Just burnin' time, can't cut the line, just watch it as it flies by uhhuuuuuuhhhoooo and I was a fool for tryin' and I was a fool for lyin' So lets just pretend that we're just good friends Around the bend I hope to see it through

Texaco 02:29
I dream, I dream, I dream, I dream stardom’s where I’m bound Blowin’ kisses out to the psychotic crowd But it all gets to my head, wind up in jail or dead, and wake up in the coldest of sweats I lie, I lie, I lie awake endlessly in bed Can’t help but wonderin’ why you said what you said It plays a thousand times over in my mind Looks like I won’t get much sleep tonight And I know now True love is selfish Like parallel mirrors reflecting for infinity Oh isn’t it scary? I drive, I drive, into the night without much of a plan At least the cold steering wheel feels good in my hands And I know it won’t be long before I meet the dawn But til then I’ll just keep drivin’ on I try, I try, I try, I try to get you off my mind parked at this Texaco watching the sun rise
3.
Geese 02:43
You are a crane amongst geese and I am a coward watching my feet as I migrate from bench to bench to bench as quick as a snail and as cool as a pan I'm lookin' for somethin' I don't know what it is but when I find it I'll be home again Dawn's turned to dusk I'm crossing a bridge There's lights on the hillside, fire on the ridge and I see it again and again and again like I've been acquitted of something I did I don't know where home is but I know this ain't it Broken to pieces in the cold evening mist Broken to pieces in the cold evening mist

about

Songs I wrote and recorded in fall and winter of 2018

"Like the playful sadness of a great Darwin Deez song meeting the restraint and twang of the Tweedy songbook from the Golden Smog/early-Wilco era, Drench Fries finds a sweet spot of catchiness and charm with Ballad Salad that many seek but don’t often hit with such precision...Between Ballad Salad and the previous years of Scum Dungeon recordings, Nattrass and the Scum Dungeon ensemble are quickly establishing themselves amongst the most prolific and thoughtful musicians in Seattle’s vibrant music scene." - Dan's Tunes Seattle

"These three short-but-sweet songs are built on a foundation of memorable vocal melodies, mellow acoustic guitar, and Casio keyboard tones complimented by slide guitar work. The release sounds like a twangy, refined version of Porches’s Slow Dance in the Cosmos, or a stripped down version of Nana Grizol’s Ursa Minor. Ballad Salad is a catchy and straightforward, EP complete with some dreamy lo-fi qualities." - The Grey Estates

Big thank you to my parents, Olivia and Selah Nattrass, Connor Gilmore, Matthew Fildey, Josh Kazebee, Samatha Brown, Emily Powers, Bella Porter, Trevor Gallo, Nate Jarrell, Max Cronen, Jonah Valenzuela, and many many more. Without these people there's no way this EP would've been possible <3
